I found this connection made by Ed between Pain Lies On The Riverside and The River in an online article from the York Daily Record. I know a lot of you hate on The River, but it is one of my favorite +Live+ songs. Here is the connection he made for those interested.

True Live fans might wonder if the river talked about in the similarly titled song is the same as the one in Live's early hit, "Pain Lies by the Riverside." Kowalczyk said that they are one and the same, but that the songs have different messages.

"I think the river metaphor in 'Pain Lies by the Riverside' is the same," he said. "It's the pain where you're not going with the flow and stopped on the riverside.

"You're waiting somehow and the river is flowing, and it's representative of your life and process as a human being. ... I think the river in 'The River' is the same river. It's the flow of life and jumping in head first."

J Krishnamurti Text Collection

Well, you're going to love this website. It has basically every bit of text published in the name of Jiddu Krishnamurti from the 1940's to the 1980's.

You are the world can be found here.

It's a collection of talks, much like his other books, but its very comprehensive and probably a good beginning point for any reader of Krishnamurti's works. Also i reccomend 'Freedom From The Known,' 'First and Last Freedom' and 'A Dialogue With Oneself.'

Enjoy! thumbsup.gif

P.S: after getting a good reading of most of Krishnamurti's work, it is extremely interesting to notice all of the influence that it has on Live's music. This is apparent all the way from DOAD to SFBM, however subtle it may be on SFBM, it is still there. Mental Jewelry is the greatest example, however.

Can anyone make a suggestion on what book is a good place to start if I wanted to read about Krishnamurti or which of his books I should start with?
