this band disgusts me.... the lead singer is claiming to be some sort of god or prophet in his lyrics. i'm sure most of you know all the words to their songs, so i don't need to do any cut and pasting, but if you're a Christian.... i don't see how you can not be offended by this band.
if you're not a Christian.... this band wont bother you. i know i'll get blasted by most on here, but if you think for one second that this band isn't (in a way) preaching a universal religion (not Christianity) then you're sadly mistaken... like i said... if you're not a Christian and don't claim to be.... rock on w/ this crap.... but if truly are a Christian then stand up for Jesus Christ and what He did for you and all mankind and walk away from this band. this band is dead to me.

I don't give a shit if you want to preach your stuff on this board (even though this is a LIVE board, not a Christianity board) since I respect your religious beliefs (even though I don't necessarily agree with them), but if you don't respect everyone elses' beliefs, please leave.

is that enough????????? if you can't see the blasphemy in these lyrics... then you're either: (a) not able to comprehend or (b) to lazy to admit that this band is what it is..... evil.

Woah, dude, none of those lyrics except for the one from Operation Spirit, that specifically references Jesus, has anything to do with religious messianic theology. Much like I expect is the way you read the bible, you have read these lyrics literally when they are metaphors, similes and symbolism. If you can't see that, then I'm afraid that you are the ignorant one here. And the lines from Operation Spirit have been thoroughly vetted here in another thread. They must be read in the context fo the entire song, which talks about letting go of the conditioned, learned, doctrinal beliefs about Jesus and God, and elevating Christ's spirit out from the confines of a prayer recited by us today, and getting back a spiritual state together, from a place of pure unconditioned consciousness. I have no doubt that what I just said went completely over your head and the meaning is totally lost on you, but I thought I'd say it anyway.

I would never want to listen to a band whose lead singer claims to be some sort of god or prophet or that preaches teachings that are inconsistent with the teachings of Jesus!

I didn't say that the lyrics are from a Christian point of view. I just said that the lyrics you quoted are not anti-Christian, nor do they have anything to do with Christianity.

You can certainly suggest that anyone who is a Christian should not listen to Live, but that is just your point of view based on your personal beliefs regarding Christianity. Your version of Christianity is not the only way to practice Christianity. There are many other ways of practicing Chrstianity, other views of Christianity and other interpretations of the teachings and meaning of Jesus. Yours may be right or it may be wrong. I personally think it is wrong.

But here's the problem that I have with many vocal Christians today. If you think that only your way is right, then you are closed minded. Those open to the possibility that a different view could be right, but feel more comfortable with their own view, are open minded and tolerant.

If you are telling Christians not to listen to Live, then I interpret that as you saying that your view of Christianity is correct, and the views others may have as Christians, who feel that it is OK to listen to Live, are wrong. Otherwise, you would accept that others want to listen to Live and you would not feel the need to change other peoples behaviors to comform to your views.

Christianity is Christianity.... there are not many forms of It. Jesus said "you are either for Me or against Me".... plain and simple.
