Best live bands Options

Which current bands do you consider to be the best in concert?

My list:

- Pearl Jam
- R.E.M.
- Arcade Fire
- Wilco
- Radiohead
- Nine Inch Nails

Of course, there are many others that I haven't actually seen live, so I have to omit them until I do...

When I saw them the first time, they played in a really small venue that was not at all suitable for music. It was basically a concourse at a civic-center type hall, so it was really hard to see unless you were way up front, and the acoustics were pretty terrible.

I decided that that might have contributed greatly for my disappointment at the show, so when I heard that they were going to play at the Forum in Los Angeles (19,000+ capacity and the site of some of L.A.'s great concerts -- Led Zeppilin, The Who, etc.) I decided to give them another try. I'm expecting it to be loads better than the first time.

Bad acoustics really ruin everything! I had the same problem with Live's 'Best Of' show at the Brabanthallen in Leuven; I'll never EVER go to a show in that venue again, no matter who plays there! Even the band got irritated by it, and if they aren't enjoying it anymore...

I hope you'll get a better gig this time!

Muse play big venues in the UK - I saw them at the MEN in Manchester and that holds a good few thousand. I just found them totally unspontaneous and boring performers - particuarly Matt as every move he made seemed rehearsed. I had a great view, the acoustics were great, the light show rather spectacular, the setlist great and the crowd really up for it - all the makings of a great gig. But it somehow didn't pull together to that great gig it should have been - the energy was off in a way I can't even begin to explain. You'd have to pay me to see Muse again.

I've seen bands I don't like anywhere near as much as Muse and enjoyed their gigs more.

That so hard for me to imagine 'cause I've just seen such a great gig of them. Hey, to each his own, eh!
But if it's the same to you, I'd rather pay Muse and see them again myself!
