Holy Shit Janice!! Now THAT was a story. I can't believe how harsh your punishment was though, way too harsh!

Ok, mine was at a Six Flags in Darien Lake, NY. We were there to see Phil Lesh from the Dead. They sold a combo ticket where you could do the park during the day, and the concert at night. So basically a ton of hippies took over the park for the day. Well, we decided it would be fun to partake in the pyschedelic type of spirits and then attack the park.

Now, I have had a fixation with flying since I was a kid. I dream about being able to fly at will. I see that they have this ride where you are in a harness and hoisted up to the top of a huge pole ( in this case 180 ft.) and you pull a cord and you fly! It's like a giant pendulum type of thing. It costs extra too, about $50. I MUST do it, I say to my husband. Since he is sane, he recruited his best friend to go on it with me. We buy our tickets and we have to wait 1 hour.

In that hour, I start to get high. REALLY high. It's our turn to go up. So I am basically tied in with a series of straps and am standing on a teeny piece of plastic. Up we go... then we hear the voice on the PA say 'Pull the cord!' My friend does, but nothing happens. Oh shit. We are suspended 180 ft in the air above a pond, which now that i am above it I can see how shallow it really is. Not much more than a puddle, really. So the guy is yelling 'Pull it, pull it!' And my friend is trying and trying...then we hear STOP! Do NOT pull the cord. We are bringing you down......



We are lowered manually down to find that the operator had us hooked in wrong. If we had succeeded in pulling the cord, we'd have tumbled right out! Thank god my husband's friend is such a freaking WUSS!
They asked if we wanted to go back up... and I'm like Hells Yeah I haven't flown yet!! So we did, and indeed I flew

Did I metion this all happened while I was tripping?!?!?!?

I never said I was sane

Would I do it again? Probably.
