www.myspace.com/porcupinetree

The bass player in my band showed me some of their stuff yesterday, it's so totally wicked...reminds me of a little Stone Temple Pilots happy.gif , a little Pink Floyd and a little more grunt. Loving it.

Anyone heard of them? Seen them live?? This could just be my one of my new favourite bands smile.gif

I know, I know! I should have listened to you! I did listen I just never got around to listening to them. I guess I just needed for someone to send me some mp3s. From what I've heard I think it is safe to say I will become addicted. They just have so much music out there and the songs that I have heard so far are just so fucking good! Their music has so many layers and their lyrics are great. It's just what I need right now. I've just become so bored with most music out there and it's so nice to discover something worth listening to.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm ordering In Absentia today and then will go from there.

No problem, you'll be pleased :-)

It is very rewarding to be a Porcupine Tree fan -- there are tons of studio albums, a few live CD's, and Steven Wilson has various side-projects, including Blackfield (an album is due in January) and No-Man, my favorite. No-Man is absolutely either a hit or miss, most Porcupine Tree fans won't even like the music (on the first few tries, at least), but that's what makes them so special...I've basically become as addicted to No-Man as I have with Porcupine Tree. But that's a bridge to cross when you come to it...right now is the time for you to get that special feeling of hearing PT for the first few times and getting completely blown away. It's a freaking amazing feeling to get. I have very fond memories of hearing their albums for the first times, because of stuff happening in my life at the time but also from the sheer exhilaration of hearing such great music. Enjoy!

Thanks for letting me know of this band. I went to their myspace site and loved what I heard so I've ordered In absentia...
Collapse the light is so beautiful.

By the way, has anyone heard of Ghost machine? Any thoughts on them? Happened to stumble into their myspace and liked their stuff. Worth buying or?
