i know some will be interested and some won't, but i heard american idol alum chris daughtry's new album, and his well-documented mention of being influenced by live is definitely backed by some of the songs he's put out.

if you go to http://daughtryofficial.com you'll find a link from vh1 streaming the album, and i think fans of live will enjoy tracks 8 and 11 in particular.

really good stuff!

After hearing the songs, I would compare the album more to manufactured Nickelback than LIVE. He may be a fan of Live, but if he doesn't write his own music, none of his unfluences will show up on the album. Generic rock at its most mediocore is what I compare Daughtry to, but definitely not Live.

as i understand it, i believe he co-wrote everything, and track 8 is actually a re-worked version of 2 songs with his old band, absent element.

i'd definitely agree i feel a little nickelback in there, too.
