Would Ed go solo?, Inspired by the Pearl Jam ticket Options

The false Pearl Jam ticket brought up a good point - what are the odds that Ed goes solo at some point? By doing all of the writing for the recent albums, has he already gone solo in a sense?

It wouldn't shock me if Ed went solo in some way, though I would be surprised if the band stopped all together. I think the concept of a solo career contradicts some of the things Ed writes about. I could see a temporary journey into a solo career, perhaps for personal exploration purposes.

I agree it would be a bad thing for Ed to go solo.

I talk and hear/ read stories of allot of people who are not Live fans, but do think Live was pretty cool, during their Mental Jewelry and Throwing Copper (and some say Secret Samadhi too) period. But according to all of them this all changed after "Ed saw the light" and allot of them actually hate the band as it is now. So seeing as Ed is writing all the lyrics for all the recent albums, I don't think allot of people will like a solo career by Mr. Kowalczyk.

Personally, I'm pretty curious what kind of songs he would be making if he went solo (would they be like the songs from Black Mountain, the songs from V or maybe the songs from Throwing Copper?) But I rather see the band just staying together as they are now and just keep working on a new album!
