Should Live Call It Quits?, Is it time? Options

I am a huge Live fan. I have enjoyed every CD (except V, which I can't even listen to except for Simple Creed) but I'm finding that the band has lost originality. I tried making a CD of my favorite songs recently and had trouble placing songs in order since every song is about love or includes water in it in some way. I miss the fun songs like Waitress and Shit Towne, they are lacking from newer live CD's. Instead we get songs that include earth elements, are about love over and over again, and sorry attempts to protest the war in some way. I would appreciate a new live CD that did not include songs about love, and had nothing to do with water (streams, rivers, ect.) or the sun, and did not mention the war (those songs especially never even seem to be very good at all) (p.s. I am not stating this as any type of comment on the war). Unless Ed can come up with lyrics on original topics that are radio worthy in the U.S., or that make me want to turn up Live and rock my speakers again , maybe live should hang up their hat and do greatest hits tours ever so often.

The newer Live seems stale and old before I even replay the CD.

For fuck sake, why are some people getting so worked up about what that guy said, and talking about standing up for yourself and all that bullshit? Seriously, its the INTERNET, and you're talking about a band. It doesn't take too many guts to stand up for what you believe in on here, and if it does... that's kinda pathetic. So well done to you people that have put up a good fight, I'm sure it was very difficult for you to do.

I don't want to see Live break up. But I don't want to see them releasing another utterly crap album. It's not just my opinion- sfbm is NOT well-written. You can still be free to like it, and identify with the lyrics and the simplicity of the music, but a lot of older fans simply can't; the dynamics, passion, lyrics, and power that they used to love Live for are simply not there. So if Live don't have any creativity left in them, and they don't want to make music anymore, I'd rather they did give up... for their sakes. (Who wants to be doing something they don't want to do if they don't have to?)

Something else that gets me, is the way that some people on here talk about 'ROCK' music. The people that say what 'rock' should be about; what topics the lyrics should deal with, what 'speed' the music is (fast and slow are horrible adjectives for describing music, please don't do it), how heavy it should be etc. Music is endless. There are so many possibilities in it... a lot of people here need to explore other genres of music.. (I'm trying to do more of this myself)

Wha????? Are you serious? Most of the music I listen to, though dealing with those themes, is not solely about love, antiwar, or protest. (And its not a prerequisite of a rock musician to be anti-war either..) If those are the only lyrical themes you think rock encompasses, you obviously haven't heard a huge range of it.

however it does stand to fact that if songs arnt about love or war then all we have left is some kind of pop idol music which represent premiscuity, indifferance and complacancy.

Again, what? How is that all that you're left with when you take away love and war? Seriously, if you think that, get off the internet for a bit, and listen to some more music! By the way, if you're going to type such 'intelligent' words, it helps if you spell them correctly....
