I've been reading over the American Idol boards and I guess a lot should be taken with a grain of salt. But some interesting things have been talked about recently. Rumors in bold

1. Chris' band is signed to open for a major recording act later this year. Live is supposedly going to have a fall tour in 06. American Idol's tour ends September 24th. Now if Live decided to tour Australia early fall and the US late fall (October/November) this pairing could definitely work. Live would benefit from the exposure to a new fan base, and Chris' band would get the benefit of touring with one of the best concert bands around.

2. Epic is waiting to release this new single with Chris Daughtry after his American Idol contract ends early fall. This would make sense since Mystery got almost zero push as a single, and re-releasing the song with Chris coinciding with a tour between the two bands could be HUGE! Having a Live and Chris duet on stage would be great for fans of both artists.

3. Epic will add the to the US dual disk version of SFBM which was due out later this year. We can only hope, since that could mean some solid album sales for SFBM!

My question is why would anyone re-record a song from an already released album unless they were going to release it to the public. If it was just a song that no one was going to profit from, why did the label order Friends of Live to pull the song from its website. I am starting to think this song will be released, when is the only question.

Chris Daughtry will get a lot out of a partnership with Live. How many 4th place American Idol finishers have done anything since the competition? Having Chris perform on an already good song will give him a shot to get on radio early on.

Also Chris will learn a lot about performing if he tours with Live. The band not only has experience, but they are in my opinion the best touring band around. He can learn a lot from Ed about what it takes to be a front man.

Its win-win for both parties.

i agree they are the best touring band around and he will definitely learn alot from ed. hell, if he can get ed into writing more rocking songs i guess i'm all for it. it's just sad it has come to this for them; they are so fantastic live, but damn they need a new producer when they go back in the studio.
