Pat Finnerty has made a name for himself for making fun YouTube videos called "What Makes This Song Stink," and he recently got into podcasting for a bit. His final podcast came out 4 days ago and he talks about Live. He's also got a guest: Andy Greene, the writer of the Rolling Stone articles.

15:46 is the start of the Live segment if the above video doesn't link the timestamp correctly. It goes until 35:30.

The extra commentary straight from the source on the entire situation is pretty interesting.

I know live isn’t universally respected but it bothers me how little respect they get, in particular with these type of features. The host essentially called them Vertical Horizon and wasn’t even close to acknowledging they had 4 outstanding albums. Oh well

I agree. Līve always gets made fun of. I’ve had instances when I’ve been given a hard time for being a fan. I was wearing a Līve t-shirt once at the grocery store & a deli worker came out from behind the counter and chased me down to say, “Līve?! They haven’t had a good album in 20 years!” As in, “Why would you ever wear their shirt?”— because that album 20 years ago was the shit, asshole.
The disrespect is maddening.

As for Andy Greene, seems he can pretty much write & defend a thesis on replacement singers/band breakups & for him to comment that Live puts dysfunction in dysfunctional is pretty disheartening. I also now honestly see he reached out to Taylor on his own. It wasn’t the other way around.
