I see no reason why both of the following can't be true:

1) Bill Hynes is a serial white-collar criminal with a penchant for lying, self-dealing, and bilking people out of their money, to say nothing of his pattern of criminal assault (including sexual assault).

2) Chad Taylor is a serial asshole with a penchant for lying and self-dealing (I'll stop short of bilking people out of their money, but it seems at least possible), to say nothing of his pattern of criminal assault.

It seems almost impossible to me that either guy would be completely absolved of even a fraction of the accusations levied against them, both in this article and related writings. Two bad people got into business together and the fall-out is happening before our eyes.

Sadly, the collateral damage of all this is that my favorite childhood band is fractured, probably permanently. It does make me happy that Chad, Chad, and Pat are making some money off the current lineup touring. They are after all the creators of the music I love, even if one or more of them is a monumental prick. Plus, the fact that they are all still in some business together related to the band keeps the faintest hope alive that one day the original lineup will again tour together. Although, at this point, that might be akin to trying to re-build a burnt down house with the ashes.

First, thank you for your concern about our family. We’re a strong unit. These are challenging times, but we are finding ways to get by.

Second, I have been in this battle since the Protection from Abuse Order was first filed agasint Hynes in July 2019. So while the RS article raises some new attention, we are 3-years and 7-months battle-hardened. Can you imagine how hard it has been on the victim? This is where my concern falls.

Third, yes, it sucks to have any of this aired publicly, but when Rolling Stone and Andy Greene reached out, I knew they could be trusted to handle the details of telling the story. Their people spent weeks fact checking through court records and documents.

Fourth, United Fiber & Data is doing well. After a lengthy investigation, I formally teamed up with the Appell Group to report our findings to law enforcement. We remain unified, and the company’s management team is doing an excellent job without the burden of Hynes.

Fifth, I remain friends with the touring members of LIVE. Please do not treat them with hostility. Bill Hynes is not their problem to fix. When I endorsed Ed with this version of LIVE, it was sincere. These are good people who deserve a fair shot at making music.

Sixth, I remain stunned by the number of you who stepped up with your own stories of violence and harassment by Hynes and Gracey. Use my DM to reach out as the attorneys and prosecutors continue to collect evidence. There is strength in numbers.

Finally, I don't find exposing the truth troubling. The journey has always been more compelling than the destination. We have no idea how this ends. But I will make new music and have written a book too. And yes, this should be a television show or a movie.

That is the biggest heap of bullshit I have ever read. First, the RS story reeks of having been commissioned and there is nothing that could convince me otherwise. Second, we’re gonna throw Gracey’s name in for harassment and violence? Seriously? I’ve never met any of the members of Live but I’ve been a fan for a long, long time. In all of those years, I’ve never seen anything negative said about him - except that he’s a Republican and ya’ll need to get over that - so I find it hard to believe. I mean, you never know people but still …… And, for that to be posted on social media …. SMH
