QUOTE
Chad Taylor, WOMAN ABUSER, ADULTERER, FRAUD & FIRED MUSICIAN.

November 08, 2022

In 2012, Chad Taylor sat down with his childhood mentor, someone he was both professionally and personally inspired by, and pitched to him a bold vision of a legacy company that would give back to the hometown they both shared. It was risky and complex; the venture entailed taking on well-established companies that had been in the business far longer and had far more market share. But this didn’t deter him. Chad had enjoyed the realization of a dream that few rarely do – his childhood garage band had evolved into a multi-platinum enterprise generating over $2 billion of topline revenue. It seemed as if at evert turn in his life, whenever someone said, “you can’t do that”, he turned around and accomplished it anyway.

Chad’s rise to fame wasn’t without struggle. He grew up in a working-class family with working-class resources in a city so small that it barely deserved to be called a city. He struggled with friendships that undoubtedly stemmed from multiple learning disabilities. But he found his voice in music. He may not have had the easiest time understanding the English-written language, but music was a language he could comprehend innately, instantly. His determination to succeed ran so deep that he became an astute, accelerated learner in his own rite. He was a polymath, teaching himself everything his teachers at school couldn’t. He would go on to master over 33 years of polyphonic instrument studies.

After a 20+ year career in the music industry, accomplishing all that he had up until that point, it’s hard to imagine what could possibly be more fulfilling than everything he had. Beyond the music career, he would tell anyone who listened how he was one of the few rock stars that escaped from the industry unscathed. That is, he was happily married, a family, emerged from his music career alive and well – without addiction or co-dependency. Of all the stories you hear from the industry today, it is hard to imagine what Chad Taylor had that everyone else didn’t.

Aside from his career, his success, his homelife and the barriers he had overcome, he had deep friendships and an incredible ability to fill any room with charisma. His teachers would often say that his story-telling abilities were far superior to his guitar playing – if you can believe that. Captivating an audience is something that seemed to serve Chad well in all areas of his life, and it’s a skill he learned to capitalize on as well. This is evidenced by the fact that he worked very closely with the Screenwriters Guild and Producers Guild – leading him to earn multi-platinum status or awards in nearly every modernized country in the world.

Going back to the meeting with his mentor, this wasn’t your average meeting, and his mentor wasn’t your average mentor. From a young age, Chad had the fortunate opportunity to be guided and advised by one of the most successful businessmen in Pennsylvania, Louis Appell Jr. You would be hard pressed to find a man with more integrity than Louis, and he saw in Chad something of himself. An eager young kid that wanted to make his mark on the world, who wanted to do well and do good. They both had a deep love for the city of York and wanted to give back to the city and communities that surrounded it.

So, in the fall of 2012, Louis wasn’t the least bit surprised when after a few years of being relatively low-key, Chad came to him with his biggest idea yet.

In 1995, a man by the name of Ralph Gordon led and won a landmark lawsuit against Ma Bell. He was the attorney for MCI and successfully litigated an antitrust suit that broke up the monopolistic hold on the telecommunications industry. He also happened to be Chad Taylor’s attorney for the band LIVE. It was at this moment that he began to learn about the federal government’s role in the telecommunications and the opportunities that may lie ahead.

Fast forward almost 15 years, when Chad had a fortuitous meeting with a network engineer that described to him a tenable problem in the industry that revealed to a problem worthy of taking on. He described a void in the market of truly diverse fiber-optic connectivity since such a high concentration of our nation’s infrastructure ran up and down the I95 corridor.

From that point Chad had a conversation with the chairman of Homeland Securities, Representative Scott Perry, who was also a general in the marines. Chad wanted to determine if Scott thought this was a worthy pursuit. Representative Perry conveyed to him that the security of our government, the security of our nation, was at risk due to the very same reason that the network engineer had stated.

Chad then went on to ask the network engineer and a sales associate if they could identify some early potential customers or early leads. To his surprise, they came back with letters of intent from large companies all in agreement that a diverse pathway was desperately needed within the telecommunications industry. And this was the company that Chad Taylor would lead.

In late 2012, Chad Taylor presented Louis Appell Jr. with a rough outline of a business plan to build a diverse fiber optic line between New York City and Ashburn Virginia. The venture was incredibly capital-intensive, and through Chad Taylor’s family office, he pledged to contribute the initial $5 million in seed money that the company would need to start. After careful consideration, Louis offered to match Chad’s initial investment, on the condition that Chad agree to keep the company location in York. Chad agreed, and in late 2012 Louis provided the initial $5 million loan as promised.

This was not a hard decision for Louis to make. He had known Chad throughout much of his life, he knew his family members and had followed his career. He frequently consulted with Chad throughout his adult life on multiple aspects of his career. Louis was the very first person that Chad talked to outside of his partners about the idea of building United Fiber & Data. Louis knew that Chad was cautious with his investments, they both shared that sentiment, and Louis knew that as long as Chad was at risk, he could trust him to put 100% of his attention to building this company, building this legacy, and bringing the city of York the jobs he promised. That initial investment would ultimately grow to nearly $26 million on behalf of Louis’ trust in Chad to build the kind of company that could leave a lasting impact on the city of York.

Unfortunately, all that glitters is not gold. This is Chad’s version of the story. Let’s go back to the beginning and look at the facts. Because none of Chad's version is the actual reality.

In 2009, Chad Taylor was experiencing life-altering events that nearly bankrupted his entire family. From 2009 through late 2011, he would default on every line of credit that had been made available to him. He was dangerously close to being homeless. This simply would not do, especially for the rock star who had become addicted to living beyond his means. While he was claiming that he had little to no assets, pocket change in his bank account and was fighting foreclosure on his home, he was targeting wealthy, philanthropic individuals with business plans for companies that he claimed were valued at over $700 million.

Prior to 2012, Chad Taylor had never met Louis Appell Jr. He had never spoken to him – or even spoken to a representative of his- let alone grown up as the entrepreneurial prodigy of a humble billionaire. Despite telling the above story under oath, Chad Taylor is not what he seems. The reality of the situation is that he deliberately targeted wealthy individuals while masquerading as a wealthy individual himself. From 2012 to 2015 he trapped his business partners in a cleverly disguised web of horrible business practices and leveraged control of multiple entities to finance a lifestyle that he had clearly become accustomed but was no longer earning or capable of sustaining. He consistently overstated his connections, his knowledge, and his ability to manage and lead. His desperate need for cash, deficit of any business logic, and overall incompetency were so great that he financially stunted everything he touched. He forced every company in which he was intimately involved into a constant rollercoaster of feast or famine.

As managing member of Think Loud Holdings, Chad Taylor, as he states in various places, and under oath, was responsible for key financial decisions and management decisions that continuously pulled capital from where it was need the most and routed it to benefit his personal interests. He did not have millions of dollars that funded a family office. He was begging, borrowing, and stealing everything he had. He deliberately inflated values of companies he was fundraising for, defrauded investors and then frantically looked for the quickest exit plan he could find. Ultimately, the man he claimed was his childhood mentor had him removed from leadership of United Fiber & Data. In just three short years, Louis had figured out that he had put his trust in the wrong man. This man, paid himself a large salary at UFD, and then used his position to hire his father (who had zero experience in any type of tech companies) to a large six figure salary. He hired his bands guitar tech, bands assistant, his personal housekeeper / nanny to his children and two of his band mates to positions at United Fiber & Data that none of them were qualified for or deserved, causing UFD to lose MILLIONS of dollars over the years. The lawsuits with UFD were settled this year, isn't it a glaring omission that they never mention Chad Taylor in their press release, however they do mention Mr. Hynes. Louis J. Appell Jr. in a scathing email to Chad Taylor said he had a proclivity of NOT telling the truth and made it a habit of never being able to directly answer his questions. Mr. Appell commissioned Bill Hynes, to get the band back together so Chad Taylor could stay as far away from any of the companies as possible. Louis J. Appell Jr. authorized an upfront payment of $300,000 dollars to Ed Kowalczyk to reimburse him for all his legal fees in connection with Mr. Taylors fraudulent lawsuit against Mr. Kowalczyk. Ed still resisted (how could he trust Chad Taylor and all of his lies and deceptions over the years) and it wasn't until Louis J. Appell Jr. authorized an additional payment of $400,000 dollars to Mr. Kowalczyk and 1 million dollars in UFD stock that Mr. Kowalczyk finally agreed to reunite with his bandmates that wrongfully sued him and tried to ruin his great name.

As his partners would later find out, Chad Taylor didn’t really do anything unless there was something in it for him. Whether it was professional sabotage, extra-marital affairs with his band mates’ wives, physical altercations with a bandmates wife, violent outbursts to employees and emotional abuse, unwanted sexual advances, out-right theft of band and business income rightly due to his partners – Chad Taylor is also the proud account holder on the Ashley Madison website where they claim "life is short, have an affair" - the list of transgressions doesn’t seem to end. The signs were always there. Chad Taylor was deliberate in surrounding himself who very much wanted to see the best in him. He targeted people who were emotionally invested in his goals, who were absolutely dedicated to the mission of the Think Loud family of companies. Unfortunately, Chad Taylor didn’t believe in that mission – he only believed in moving through life taking what he thought he deserved by any means necessary. Including filing for and receiving PPP loans from the SBA for a company that was inactive, out of business and never having an employee. He took out SBA EIDL loans for numerous companies that had no revenue or employees. He owes Truist Bank over $400,000 dollars in various loans and he is in default for those loans he took out to maintain a lifestyle he just can't afford. He also used company loans to pretend he was putting more equity into his Think Loud Holdings company and used the proceeds of these loans to dilute his childhood friends Patrick Dahlheimer and Chad Gracey. He fully controlled the financial aspects of Think Loud Holdings and wouldn't allow any of his partners to view bank statements or any financial reports. He put Patrick Dahlheimer and Chad Gracey on a monthly allowance and used money to control their every move. He also used this to prey on Chad Gracey wife, entering into a longterm affair that started in 2012. If you didn't do what Chad Taylor said, he withheld money and dangled it like a carrot in front of his partners. Chad Taylor also used Think Loud Holdings company loans to invest into other companies, however he failed to give his partners any equity in those companies. Instead he told everyone that it was his own money and he held all of those investments into his own company, screwing over his childhood friends. Certainly he lied on his personal financial statements and committed many instances of loan fraud. Various state and federal law enforcement agencies are looking into him, his lies will be uncovered. They will be coming after him, the banks are coming after him and they will get their pound of flesh.

Chad Taylor likes to bully people and write eloquent passages that sprinkle a piece of truth here and there, just enough so you believe his lies. He, never takes accountability for his actions and wants to throw the blame to Ed Kowalczyk, Chad Gracey, Bill Hynes and others. Chad Taylor likes to talk about his moral high ground, however his best friend Christopher Malatesta is a federally convicted felon who served over four years in jail for mafia related crimes. His new business partner Lawrence Goldfarb another federally convicted felon, served 14 months in a federal prison, was suspended from practicing law, suspended by the SEC from trading and fined more than 12 million dollars. Chad Taylor is nothing more than a lying hypocrite. Meanwhile, Hynes was not found guilty, and did not plead guilty to any offenses, received 3 years probation and only a $300 dollar fine. A fine that is less than a speeding ticket and far less than a DUI.

Talk about selling the drama.
