What I will say, however, is after 4 years being in a band there is ZERO excuses for still having lyrics at your feet on stage!

I know how this happened. You see, after it was announced that Ed was doing a solo tour under the Live moniker, Chris' evil twin brother, Chris-2, sent a letter as Chris to the Rolling Stone saying that he had some beans to spill on Live. Chris, who has been locked in a cave near a beach in California for the past 10 years, had nothing to do with this. But Chris-2 is easy to recognize! Chris still has his dreads but Chris-2 doesn't. I don't know why no one can see it!

Of course Live is a fucking shit soap opera that could make this ridiculous theory believable but chances are that it's a mix of Chris having a new record and, as @Cardiff_Giant said, the series is litterally "Rolling Stone‘s interview series King for a Day features long-form conversations between senior writer Andy Greene and singers who had the difficult job of fronting major rock bands after the departure of an iconic vocalist." which is why they also talk about Blind Melon.

That is truly a shocking conspiracy. I wish my initial evil twin theory was right, it would at least be entertaining.

What I will say, however, is after 4 years being in a band there is ZERO excuses for still having lyrics at your feet on stage!

Apart from you and Bill Hynes around here, I've seen no one bitch about Chris forgetting some lyrics or having lyrics at his feet. Who fucking cares seriously? He put on a great show, had a great voice, that's all that matters. Littlerally!

Also, as it's been said, Axl Rose, Liam Gallagher and others are known to use lyric sheets and/or teleprompters. People with a huge back catalog, ESPECIALLY IF THEY DIDN'T WRITE THE SONG, can forget lyrics. I see that as wanting to give the best performance. It's not a negative thing at all.

And I'll add to that :

Forgetting lyrics <<<<<<< Fucking over everyone in the band (which goes for both Ed/Chad T.)

What Ed is doing now and what Chad has done before is truly disgusting and a way better reason to hate on Live, or rather the dust that remains from it, than Chris not knowing the lyrics by heart.
