Per the other inquiry. What if we got a new guitarist?

Hold the phone, don't shoot me

I think since Live has always had a touring guitarist on stage. Now Zak Loy...he could become the lead. CT always wanted to have more beef in there for stage sound. He seems too tied up in other business to focus on the band. There has been no activity since the EP, which was Loy anyway.

What other guitarists can step in and do the rhythm and leads and play off Ed and Pat?? Hennesey played with them for a show back in 2012. I am sure they can also get away with it musically, but the optics would be soap opera level musings.... just a hypothetical that is all.

Fair consideration. It’s just, I’ve always seen Taylor as the leader of the band, and what is a band without its leader? He’s so kind, and seems to still love what he does (at least this last tour he seemed to), I’d be crushed not to see him on stage. But hypothetically, I’d be most comfortable with Loy or Hennessy. Even Adam Kowalczyk, if he could do it.

I don't know if I see CT as the leader of the band... that's always been Ed to me. I see CT as more the heart and soul of the band.

Loy and Hennessy have written a few songs, but IMO they're more rhythm guitar players that occasionally play leads. They play better off others. Adam could definitely do it. He's been in bands since the 90's, starting with Portion.

I could also see Christopher Thorne in that role. He was fantastic with Live in the TDTH era.

Peter Klett (Candlebox, Royal Bliss) would crush that role. Jerry Cantrell (AIC) might work as well. I'd love to see what Stone Gossard or Mike McCready (PJ) could do. Mike Einziger (Incubus) would also be cool.
