I've been listening through some old +Live+ bootlegs lately and it got me wondering about the awesome sound quality on a number of shows from Holland and Belgium (particularly from 1999-2001).

Many of those listed below sound like they are sourced from high quality pre-FM sources, however there are never any radio announcements, nor have any radio promos CD for these shows ever been sighted in the fan community to my knowledge. Some have appeared as 'silver' bootlegs, but that doesn't answer anything as the bootleggers must have got their audio from somewhere. It's possible some may be from video broadcasts (a la Rockpalast 1999), however, the quality of those listed below is much better than the Rockpalast show, and I'd like to think if there were videos of these shows then surely they would be in circulation among fans smile.gif

So, does anyone happen to know the original source for the boots listed below? Or know anything about how 'radio broadcasts' in these countries used to be distributed?

1999-12-02 Den Hagg, Holland
1999-12-09 Flanders Expo, Belgium (the 12 track version, not the mono 15 track version)
2000-06-06 Pinkpop, Holland
2000-07-02 Werchter Festival, Belgium
2001-10-11 Ahoy, Rotterdam, Holland

Finally, does anyone happen to have a copy of the Werchter 2000 show that they could share?...

Hi Ridley,

It takes sometimes a little time before you get an answer here, but as a true dutchie I might clear some questions for you. All of the shows you mention are distributed on silver discs. That's the first fact.

The Flanders '99 is definitely a radio sounboard and I can guarantee you, the Pinkpop version(s) too, but they will probably never say it is, cause it's bootlegged.

However the 2001 Ahoy is an actual Universal music release.

Don't forget the other Benelux recordings like:
2000-04-07, 2 Meter Sessions, Wisseloord, Hilversum, Holland
2000-04-18, Secret Show, Jet Studios, Brussels, Belgium
2001-10-10, Sportpaleis, Antwerpen, Belgium

About your 2000 Werchter request; I do have mp3's if you're interested?

Thanks so much FreakyDee!

You Dutch really know how to bootleg a radio show! When you say 'radio soundboard', do you mean you think they were captured from a pure source (pre-FM CD or actual soundboard) or simply from an FM broadcast? They thankfully lack the usual 'brightness' of usual FM broadcasts, which is why I thought they must be from a better source smile.gif

It would be great if you could please share mp3s of the Werchter 2000 show - thanks! thumbsup.gif

Do you happen to have FLACs/mp3s of the other 3 shows you mentioned? Particularly interested in the Sportpaleis one as I haven't heard of that boot before...

2000-04-07, 2 Meter Sessions, Wisseloord, Hilversum, Holland
2000-04-18, Secret Show, Jet Studios, Brussels, Belgium
2001-10-10, Sportpaleis, Antwerpen, Belgium
