Hey all - newbie here. Hope you're all well. I've been a Live fan to one degree or another since Throwing Copper but recently I've been revisiting their music - specifically albums I had previously ignored like Birds of Pray and V. (V in particular has some stuff I like so far).

I've never heard The Turn with Chris Shinn, but it's not on Spotify (in Canada, at least), the CD is not available via Live's official store or Amazon. I recall when Shinn was let go, they barely mentioned or even thanked him. Has the album been erased from history?

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers.

I'm glad so many others feel the same way. Live was castrated almost 20 years ago and the old Live isn't coming back. TGF was, to me, about a 8 out of 10, the Turn was a 6 out of 10. Pretty good considering SFBM was about a 3 and Local 717 or whatever it's called was a 1, and Ed's solo was a big fat goose egg.

I remember driving down to Columbus to see the TGF (they weren't coming to Cleveland) and I did it because I knew they would be just like Army of Anyone....one and done. The venue was pretty much empty. Rock music had moved on, even though the album was good.

The Turn never had a chance - the first album in 7 years or so by a band who hadn't been relevant in 15 years with a new lead singer? You knew that wouldn't work.

So now it's the money grab portion of their careers.....greatest hits, same setlist, show after show. Hey, Ed needs to remodel his kitchen? Let's do a few tour dates.

They were once a top 3 band for me. They turned out to be a band who had a run of 4 great albums, a so-so album or two, and trash since. If their last EP was a preview of things to come, they should stick to the past.

I wish they'd pull a PJ and start releasing old live shows online. I'd pay 10-15 bucks for a bunch of shows. That would be pretty exciting. There's not much to look forward to otherwise from these guys. I don't think there's much in the vaults. Would also love to hear demos, but that won't be released.

Big fat ditto. I wish the DeLeos and the drummer would just ditch this new guy they have imitating Weiland for STP and go make more music with Richard Patrick.
