How's everybody holding up in the face a of all the quarantines and social distancing?

I'm finishing up my PhD, so I was basically working from home all the time anyway. Now I just go out less.

My partner has been working from home for a week now, too. We're celebrating every day that he doesn't get furloughed, because we'll have to apply for unemployment basically immediately. My graduate stipend is not remotely enough to pay all of our bills.

Our household is honestly getting low on toilet paper, I’m not looking to hoard! Haven’t found it anywhere this entire week. I’m leaving the house at 6:30 or 7 a.m. tomorrow to go get in line at the grocery (it opens at 8) to try and score some.

We have most of the essentials (including TP, lol) that we'll need for about 5 months, give or take. It's hard to stockpile much in an apartment, though.

Like Voodoo Lady I'm working from home and dealing with online learning stuffs. It's an interesting time with lots of academics being dropped right in at the deep end. Make all of your teaching online RIGHT NOW. Panic ensues, obviously.

I don't have to teach this term, but I did get to watch everybody who does rush into online-only classes. I think a lot of people felt like they got thrown in the deep water.
