Live and Commercial Success - Does it Matter? Options

I'm wondering if anyone cares whether or not Live's new album (or any of their new albums at any point in time) hits the top of the charts. For me, I will love their music as long as I can relate to it and feel it; regardless of where it ends up on the charts.

But part of me misses the commercial success of Throwing Copper. Part of me wants everyone to be talking about Live and how great they are. I want to hear them on the radio, and see them on TV, in the magazines. What it really is, is that I want everyone to feel how I feel when I hear their music - because it's a pretty great feeling. It's the feeling, if you ask me. That's a bit off topic, so anyway...

Anyone else have an opinion on this? Does Live's commercial success matter to you in any way?

I think the River is a much better single than Better Days or Give a Little Bit. I personally think the Goo's have slipped in quality over the last few years. They don't even tour except for NYE in Vegas. Lucky for them, there label still pushes them strong after their last album barely went gold.

I just hope Epic starts the big push for Live soon......

But that's not even their song! I can't even begin to explain how much it pisses me off when COVERS are considered new songs. I can't speak for Super Tramp, but I think I would be so pissed if some CRAP band like the Goo Goo Dolls covered one of my songs, and it went higher on the charts than my original version. Same for No Doubt and It's My Life. I wanted to punch Gwen in the throat every time I heard that song because for me, she totally ruined it. I LOVED that song right up until the very second I realized NO DOUBT *blech* was covering it. It was ruined for me forever. There's really too much Gwen Stefani in the world as it is. I don't need her fucking up MY favorite songs from the 80s. Someone really needs to grab her by the shoulders, shake her around, bitch slap her, and say "STOP IT!!!!!". I can't wait to hear the nuggets of brilliance that come out of her gross face once she has that kid.

Such a sad state when the audience doesn't even know what it is they're listening to. Bunch of lemmings.
