And there we go... first date in The Netherlands. The Concert at Sea Festival on June 28. Yes, at the sea, as the festival name says. I think Ed played there solo before (2010?).

Hope more Holland and European dates will follow from now on soon!

I don’t really think those changes are a surprise and therefore, didn’t garner comments. Seems they favor playing Overcome and RTTW when in Europe. What would be surprising would be like, Heropsychodreamer or Like I Do.

I get that those songs aren't surprising in that sense, but with all the annoyance over the canned setlist, I'd have thought ANY change would have at least garnered a comment or two.

It's nice they are sprinkling in some different tunes here and there, but their set feels so canned. I wonder if they have a tape playing in the background? They never change the order either.

I've finally accepted that this will be the norm for them and the tours they schedule. They are pretty much performing for the one-off casual fan and really have no need to dig deep into their catalog.

This morning I was thinking it's crazy that they have been a band for 30 years and only have 10 years worth of music that people want to hear.

Do they not know how to play Hold Me Up? Can Ed not sing it right? I know it's not getting much radio play but if you release/advertise it as a single you'd think they would add it. Maybe they're saving it for 20 years down the road. ..


and from the small samples of reviews that I have seen the fans (new and old) are really enjoying the show. That's all that matters in the end...

They absolutely use a backing tape for at least some songs. Pretty common these days. The 2018 version of The Distance has some keyboards in it but no keyboards onstage. Usually pretty audible after Zak finishes soloing.

You can also hear during some recent performances of White, Discussion - some sounds from the album recording that couldn’t be duplicated onstage (like the echoing vocals at the end).
