I cannot even begin to understand why they choose to spend 10 minutes doing that versus playing another new song and a deep track. Totally inexplicable.

The song is over in 5. The clip posted is of the cover, and The Distance.

I know, I watched the whole thing. An extended version of The Distance should not be a top priority of the setlist either. It’s not one of their best songs, not a deep track because they’ve played it on several ECCP and Ed solo tours, and it’s not a hit to excite the casual fans. Makes no sense to take up 7 minutes of limited time to dedicate to the distance. They really should be playing a deep track or new song or both during that same time period.

Don’t get me wrong, I am a fan of The Distance but not the 7 minute version that prohibits time for other songs that I much rather hear.

Agreed. Like, Hold Me Up being 3 minutes. Then they could have played that new song they leaked on Instagram.

Even better would be... release the damn thing already.

If the studio version doesn’t show up in 2019, I give up hope.
