We either hear the first new song from ECCP in nine years or have to keep waiting. Come on! Let's hear those new 5 or 6 songs already.

Ed and Chad have been doing this in every interview for a year.

So, for whatever reason they’re not playing a new song (fear? ), what about replacing I Am the Highway with Spew or some other rarity? No offense to Cornell & fans, but c’mon.

I’m happy Iris and TBD made it in and cheers to Aussies who enjoyed the show.

I am as disappointed as anyone in the lack of new music, but I can see where they are coming from in some ways. Right now everyone is glad they are back together and we are all pretty much in agreement that the quality we are getting in music is as good as it's been in years. They are playing it safe and playing the hits that everyone agrees are good and this keeps people happy enough to at least come to the shows.

But the minute they drop a new song then there will be those who hate it (rightfully or wrongfully), complain that they've lost their ability to make good music and should hang it up, and the reunion honeymoon for the fanbase will be over.

For now though they can try to rebuild their following and make some money in the process. It's hard for me to fault them for trying to ride this out as long as possible as I would probably do the same if I were them. So for now I will sit back and hope the forthcoming tour comes near my house and that they decide this summer is the right time for some new music. It's not the ideal situation, but this is still probably the best time to be a Live fan since Clinton was president.
