If you care to do a quick search, I believe you'll find there are or at the very least have been in recent times US peace keeping forces in each of the countries you mentioned. Even the huge USA army can't be everywhere at once and it's all about looking after your own interests. The countries you mentioned weren't threatening the USA's interests directly like the situation in the Middle East, so the situation there is totally different.

As for 'right and good' that's always relative to who you are and who's side you're on at the time! Me - oh, I think I'll go with the USA as I've far less chance of getting tortured, mutilated and murdered by my own side if I speak out against or satirise it. Fair enough, I might get on a bus or go to a pub and get blown to bits by an angry young English muslim guy, but we lived with that threat from the IRA doing the same thing for decades so I'm a bit blase about it.
