I've seen a lot of talk about how Līve handled the reunion news and how they handled Chris Shinn's departure. Līve obviously are a part of society and are beneficiaries of the technological conveniences we've all grown accustomed to. We expect news to arrive to us fast as soon as it takes place. So when we found out how long ago this decision had been made maybe some were put off by that.

Līve didn't grow up in the social media age. While the guys have all embraced social media, the function of Līve has always been one of stretches of silence. And they have always made odd choices here and there. So in the grand scheme of things the way they handled the reunion and Chris' departure should probably be seen as par for the course.

I think you make a great point. It seemed like they were waiting for him to comment first, which I don't necessarily disagree with, so that he could be the one to make the official statemenet. It was almost a relief to see them all embrace each other they way they did following Chris's post. And you're right, we expect to know everything right away and that's not how Live has historically operates.. What turned me off was that while we were waiting to hear from any of them about Chris's departure, we had someone close to the band eluding to Chris not having balls or ripping on him for forgetting lyrics. It almost stirred the pot for something more sinister.

This is where it went off the rails for me. Looking back it's not fair to point the finger at CCP for what someone else commented on. Since Shinn knew about this for 8 months I'd assume they all talked and said their peace privately. Still could've been handled better, but I'm glad it's out of the way for both Shinn and Live.
