There is nothing grammatically incorrect when saying "I could care less." It doesn't make much sense, but the grammar is fine.

It may not be correct, but its a colloquialism that a lot of people use. You got my point, I could give a rat's ass (or I couldn't give a rat's ass?) whether or not Ed is wearing a shirt.

You are correct. It is pretty commonly accepted and everyone gets what you are saying.

Ed taking his shirt off was always hilarious to me. The best part was the fact that the vast majority of the people watching (women included) really had no desire for the shirt to come off, but he straight up Magic Mike'ed that shit every time. It always cracked me up.
