There is now a countdown on LIVE's website. Four days until... Something!

That took Fish probably about 7 minutes to write. I'd fully accept and respect that. Why Live can't throw down a few paragraphs is beyond me.

Yep. Would've only taken 2 minutes, but I stopped in the middle to take a 5 minute break to watch MSNBC and read Huff Post.

But seriously, I don't care as much about the split and the lawsuits and the reconciliation. Stuff happens. Perceptions that divide one from the other can develop and harden over time. Then time and a different perspective heal things. The relationship is like a family, and most of us know how people can fight and stop talking to people close to us, and then reunite - especially with those with whom we are closest. It's the people we are NOT really close to that we can write off forever and never reconcile with after a rift, because they don't matter enough to reunite with. The difference between our families and Live is that we don't put it out there in public so that 7 years later when you get back together, you have to clean up the things you wish you hadn't said in the moment when things change.

For me, more than anything, I want an explanation about the music. Because them getting back together isn't going to mean anything at all to me if we get a bunch of La Da Das and Christian similes. I want to hear an acknowledgement from Ed that Ed's solo efforts on V and BoP and SFBM and solo records are not the same as Live music when they all collaborated. I am NOT saying that he has to criticize his solo efforts of BoP or SFBM and say they are not good. There are plenty of people here and around the world who like BoP and SFBM and Ed's solo work. To some people it is good. It is a matter of taste and preference. But I hope everyone can agree that there is a difference in the way the music sounds. And for those of us who love Mental Jewerly, Throwing Coppper, Secret Samadhi, The Distance To Here, The Gracious Few and The Turn, and only sort of like BoP and SFBM a little bit - what I really want to hear is an acknowledgement that there was a difference in the music when CCP were involved in making it and when they weren't involved in making it and that Live recognizes that (and more specifically that Ed recognizes it). CCP has already said that between 2010 and 2012. That is reality and you can't just ignore it or pretend it away. It would create a lot more interest in what they will do next (for me and I suspect many others) if they make an honest and credible offering that what Live is going to do now - going forward - is make music created by all 4 of them, like they did in the 90's. If they say that, and eventually back it up with good Live music (which I firmly believe they all have the ability to do) then it is game set and match. Not just for me, but for WMMR, Facebook fans, people in Australia (except for Pokey), and everybody in between. But without that, I'm afraid we will just have to hold our breath and hope that Live doesn't continue not he trajectory that they were on since the year 2000. I would like them to interrupt that line of thinking with a strong statement on the issue at this time.
