Someone told me that on a Live FB group, CCP's long time business associate just said that it is FACT that Ed NEVER stole from his bandmates. Very nice to be able to finally put all that drama to rest.

Note: This thread was not created by SJN1279. It was split from the NYE Party At Think Loud Entertainment thread.

You've written it in simple english; a few in the minority STILL just can't accept it or get over themselves. Keyboard warriors with the whole he said / she said mentality.

[....]

Like I said the other day, FORGIVENESS is not easy; but if a person/s forgives the other, then STOP questioning the sincerity. Grow up!

It says alot about the character of Ed, that throughout this whole saga, he remained publicly silent whilst people threw every but the kitchen sink at him.

[....]

The problem for this band, is that NO matter what happens in the past, present and future, people will still throw stones at them. Some just thrive on being negative and especially those who hide behind a username.

I think it's a wonderful way to end 2016 to have 4 childhood friends reunited again. People need to embrace it. Give these guys a chance; make 2017 a new beginning; come together as one.

From my perspective, the story doesn't really add up. There are questions, logic fails, 180 turns that leave credibility in doubt - lots of things that keep me wondering (and as a fan I am owed some explanation for). And no amount of "ughhh get over it!" from people who are happy to roll with it is gonna make me suddenly just forget about those things.

Also, not sure Ed was entirely publicly silent. For one thing he's been claiming credit for more than his fair share of the back catalog which is in itself very disrespectful.

I think when a band goes through a lead singer change like this one has, with the lawsuit saga on top, and then pulling a 180 on it... it's pretty unavoidable that some sections of the fan base are always gonna have gripes. And that's without mentioning the trend of music quality in relation to the changes.

I also think it's less that some of us thrive on negativity, more that were just not willing to let all these loose ends go just because some others are happy to flow with the tide. And the hiding behind the username thing, meh. I can't speak for all, but I say these kind of things on the FB group there and my name's slapped on every post so I'm not hiding.

Finally, I understand that fans in the same camp as you are frustrated that people like me aren't just "getting over it" and jumping on board with a smile so wide I'm tearing my own face to pieces, but seriously. Given all that's happened, said, done, music quality trends - I think being sceptical and stand offish about this reunion is an exceptionally reasonable stance. Not the only one a fan can take, for sure, but I'm not just being negative for the sake of it, and I don't need to just get over it or myself. Those are empty things to say.
