But no really this is why there is always going to be some unrest in the fan base. If people legit prefer the sound of Alive, somehow, over The Turn and others are vice versa it's clear we are never all quite going to get what we want. The fear now is that if Live try to find middle ground to suit everyone it'll just be an awkward, bland, compromised mess as opposed to being genuinely one or the other. If they genuinely went one way or the other they might at least have a settled fan base to cater to. It's the same as movies not knowing who their audience really is and it ends up a mess

i think the unrest is also due to the long standing argument of "live is 4 guys" or "ed is live".

as mentioned elsewhere lot sof ppl hated ccp after the split. natural they like anything ed related over ccp related so alive over the turn.

sometimes ppl pick sides over the music

That's true. You had people who had zero problems with CCP before the split (as opposed to lots of people having problems with Ed before the split) and then suddenly they were all over CCP. The infamous "no noticable drop offs" comment when comparing Ed's band to CCP for example. A lot of people really can only see Live skin deep, that is, Ed = Live. Which even back in the 90s I would never subscribe to. It makes it hard to take a lot of those people's comments seriously now with any weight when you know they have almost zero appreciation for anything unrelated to Ed. They can say now all they like that they do, but there were years of posting otherwise.
