I think anyone who truly thought Live were done (whether with Chris or Ed) was kidding themselves. I think from maybe mid this year it was pretty clear a reunion was on the cards. The details of where/how/when etc just to be worked out.

So, is Live dead? Of course not. Is Live dead to me? That's another story. Seeing CT crawl back to Ed is pretty cringe worthy. All of Ed's shady dealings and questionable character aside - his voice has just become something so utterly removed from everything I once loved that I fail to see how I could enjoy listening to him continue to butcher Live songs. CT and co. obviously needed the money. In the end, Nick was right - its all about money, its all about doing business. Live will never take the world by storm again but they will undoubtedly do better business with Ed at the helm. So to me, I see it as sacrificing their artistic and creative integrity for some more cash.

On the flip side, I can't deny that it didn't make me smile a little to see Ed and Chad laughing together. Ed putting his arm around Chad etc. While I would much prefer Live to continue with Chris, at least away from the band its nice to see friends reunite. Whether this comes back to bite Chad on the ass later on is another issues, but for now at least.

So I guess I'm waiting to see how it pans out. If the reunion brings awful Ed then I'm 100% done for good. I'd say I'm 95% sure I will just simply not enjoy it. I also have zero reason to believe I would enjoy Ed again. He hasn't been good for 16 years, so why would he suddenly be so now? Even if CCP are laying down a great canvas for him to work on. But I guess its come this far so I owe that 5% of doubt the chance to see where it goes. But I certainly won't be waited with baited breath following every single detail like in the old days. If it is the end for me, then The Turn is a fine way to go out.

I'm done arguing about it though. I'm not fighting or trying to change anyone's mind anymore. If you're excited about this news or you're pissed about this news - good for you. To me, Live dumping Chris and going back to Ed is tantamount to turning their back on me and my faith in them (IMO, from my personal POV of course). So my loyalty to them, to defend them etc is a blank slate now. I don't care about Live financially. I don't care what will do well,what won't do well. Who finds Ed or Chris better, who things SFBM was a masterpiece or not etc. I don't care about the fan base. I don't care if this is "reuniting" the fan base, or further dividing it. All I really care about now is whether I will enjoy the music or not. I guess time will tell on that.

Well, lets not go nuts here! His view on music is almost completely counter to mine. From my point of view there he is wrong and forever will be wrong. But, he views music through economic eyes, which is how I believe Ed has viewed it for a long time and how CCP are viewing it now.

I am also disassociating myself from the "CCP fan" label. Formerly? Yeah. Now, well, we'll see. I utterly disagree with their decision to go back to Ed. So, CCP cease to be a thing, really. Its ECCP. I don't ever think I am a fanboy who will eat up anything and everything CCP do. If they do stuff that doesn't gel with me then I am not going to pander to them and pretend its all good. I'm wiping the slate clean. I am not a fan of Ed anymore, nor have I been for a long time. So I'm extremely hesitant with whats about to happen. Its a simple equation for me though - if the music they produce doesn't work for me, then I'm walking away.

I know no one cares what I like or don't like or whether I stay or go or what. This is more just from my own personal "journey" with Live. Previously, at the very least I could root for CCP. I can't do that anymore. They've gone "all in" with Ed. So it's all or nothing. And if its nothing then at least the positives to be taken out of it are - introducing me to Shinn, Candlebox, TGF, and The Turn.
