Hey everyone smile.gif

So, since I'll be listing items for sale periodically, I decided it would be best to have one central hub for those listings instead of flooding the forum with single posts for each new item I put up.

This thread will NOT only be discography items, although that was my specialty when I collected. I have a limited number of non-discography items which I will be listing as well.

I DO have a master list of my collection of over 800 discography items created, however I have not revised that list in some time....so for now I will not be posting it. I will review that document and revise as necessary, and at a later date I will make that new list public. However....if you are a collector and you are looking for a specific item, there's a fairly good chance I have it. I sold off quite a lot of rarities a number of years back, but I'm still holding quite a few gems. Don't be afraid to ask if I have something, because if I do, we can talk about a sale.

Without further ado, here are the first 2 items I've got up for auction (one of which is considerably scarce):

Live - Lakini's Juice (US promotional 10" vinyl single - #0018) [RAR8P-3927]

OBSCURE Live - All Over You (Australian promo CD single) [RAD33362-PRO]

There isn't a huge market for Live right now. May never be again. IMO - if you really want this stuff to sell you have to drop starting bids to $0 and let it ride. It's a gamble.

If you want to keep items unless the price makes you sell it, then keep doing what you are doing.

It is true that there are only a handful of collectors out there still, and an item that might have sold for $1000 ten years ago might only fetch $200 today. However, (and I could be completely wrong here), but I believe eBay charges a fee to set a reserve price. So, I've arbitrarily set a reserve price by just making it the opening bid price. Really, I think these items are worth at least their opening bid, even if the collector market has dwindled.

I'm also going to be selling things in sets pretty soon. You'll probably see an auction for something like 10 different Lakini's Juice singles soon. Among them might be 1 or 2 rarities, so the asking price might approach $100, but it'll give a) me the opportunity to unload stock I've been holding onto forever, and b) the potential buyer an opportunity to get one or two rare items in a bundle and maybe flip the "extras" for profit somewhere down the line.

And items may not sell for what I'd like to get as a return. That's understandable given the market for Live in 2016. But these items are not without value and I initially invested a certain amount in them. I'd like to see them find good homes, but also not completely bankrupt myself in the process.

Additionally, I'm kinda trying to put some mid-range value items up first to test the waters. I know the standard RAXTD/RAXXD singles won't sell at all, so I'm not expecting a return on those. But some of the things I'm putting up right now have historically sold fairly well. One exception is the AOY single I currently have up which has pretty much whatever value I assign it since (I believe) it is the only known copy to have ever surfaced (I could be wrong....I've been out of the loop for 9 years). But, I am holding on to some true gems which I'll put up once I get a feel for what people are willing to pay for a Live collection.

I'm under no illusions though. I know the market is at its worst. It's a shame, because this band was highly collectible and sought after when they were at their peak.
