The interviewer played dumb and then pandered to Ed the whole way through. He's a definite yes man. Had Live 2.0 come through he would compliment them for how great it must feel to not have the lead singer control the fate of the band.

I don't think he played dumb or was a 'yes man'. I guess it depends on how much you expect a radio host to know about Live. I doubt he knows much about Live's music post 2000, but Ed mentioned Daughtry incidentally and the host knew the details of the American Idol scenario on the spot. The host talked about how he was also doing college radio work in the past, dropped some operation spirit lyrics and how that reflected his own spiritual "confusion," and seemed to connect with Mental Jewelry, and Throwing Copper. He didn't need to talk about the new Live line-up to be a yes man, and I think he wanted to speak his opinion at the risk of alienating CCCP fans. He went so far as to use the word "shmuck" as his first thought. So I think the host genuinely was a fan of early Live and was not appreciative of the new line up.
