Good show last night. I recommend it.

I was hooked with the circa '94 news reel intro. Ed looked great. Behind the stage visuals were really good. His number 2 on guitar was very good. Ed's voice was good but started to get goo-goo-ga-ga baby talk pitch by the end. Me and wife looked at each a couple times with a WTF? The echo effects maybe didn't help. My conclusion was is that he sings by breathing in, not breathing out? IDK different.

We REALLY enoyed hearing TC. I admit that my enjoyment level was enhanced probably more by the great memories I've had listening to the album and live recordings over the years than by the actual performance though. Lots of emotion for me within the first 4 songs. Ed did do a good job "solo" but having seen the band do most of TC 3 times in 94-95 era, it made me want me to see the full band version even more. I hope they do a full band 25 year reunion annivesary. *fingers crossed*

He played for 1hr 45 mins. After TC he did several other songs. LJ, Heaven, 2 solo numbers. TMH (not good) and ended with Overcome - my least favorite song. Wished he did an "encore" maybe with Mirror Song and DC but no luck. I don't have the set list now but I made a good audio recording and will try to up it on Dime or here somehow in the future.

Check him out, if for nothing else, to take a walk down memory lane or to at least get a glimpse of what it was like. I'm really glad I did.

That version of TBD sounds decent. It's kind of silly though, that for a big portion of the film visuals, he's using a giant video of his face. I know I'm going to get flamed for this, but I wish he would check his ego at the door sometimes. He had some great ideas in that performance, but showing videos of himself just kind of kills it.

I've seen some great performances where bands used a film backdrop to enhance the live experience. I don't think Ed gets it...

Here are couple great uses of visual media at shows:

Jonsi (one of the best performances I have ever seen):
