Hey guys. Tony C here. Lead vocalist of the band Manitoba Rock n Rolla.

I've lingered here for quite a long time but just signed up today. Anyway, though our genre's are quite different, Live and Ed have always been a major influence of mine. They are easily one of my favorite bands of all time.

I do really enjoy Ed's solo stuff and I put my favorite songs of his on a playlist with my Live stuff on my ipod and it flows so well together. It's no surprise that the songs I've gravitated to from his lone releases are those that sound the most like a Live record. A few days ago I was listening to this playlist and I got a little OCD about it not having a classic "Live" album cover so I made one myself and figured I'd share it. I called my playlist "The Flood and the Mercy" after his most recent release because frankly...that's an awesome title. I decided to put something simple together in the vein of Throwing Copper and figured why look any further than the man who did the art featured on Throwing Copper, Peter Howson. I found a painting he did called "The Tempest" and I thought it was absolutely PERFECT for that album title.

So here it is. Just thought I would share. Hope some of you will get some enjoyment out of seeing something like this, as simple as it is.

Hey there Tony, Nice to meet you.
That is really nice! I like it a lot.
It's nice to see someone post who is digging Ed solo.

I can't help but wonder...you did not mention whether you like the new cd or not?
Or have you gotten around to checking it out?
Ocd eh? haha i can relate. My son struggles with it terribly but for the most part, he does okay. lol.
Thanks for sharing your art. It's just awesome.
Thanks for coming by. rockin.gif I'll have to check out your band. Is there a facebook?

I'm just OCD about my music being organized. lol. I know that's weird but after I did a little pick and choose amongst the Ed tracks that I liked the most, collectively, they sounded like somewhat of a "lost" Live album so I just turned them into one by making a cover and such so I would just blend them in with the rest of my Live tracks on my ipod. Glad you dig it.

My tracklist of choice for this is

Seven
Angels on a Razor
Drink (Everlasting Love)
I'm the Proof
Drive
Holy Water Tears
Stand
All that I Wanted
The Garden
Grace
Bottle of Anything
The One

As for "The Turn", it grew on me. When I first heard it, all I could do was try my best to hear Ed singing the songs. And while Chris does seem to be channeling his best "Ed" much like Toryn Green did his best "Brett Scallions" when he was with Fuel, you can definitely tell a difference. With that said, The Turn has really grown on my. I think it's similar in tone to the often underrated "Secret Samadhi". I like it. I'm not into all that "Ed vs. Live". Ed will always be Live to me just as the rest of the band will always be Live to me. I can see points to both sides of their arguments.

So the good with the bad, I get two good acts with Ed's solo stuff and the new Live. Not that I wouldn't openly welcome a reunion of Ed and Live, but until (if ever) that happens, Chris will fill the void.

With all the vocalist flip-flopping of some of my favorite bands from the 90's, Here's to hoping Dishwalla puts out as decent of an album on their JR Richard-less new album in 2015.

As for my band, we may not appeal to a lot of folks. Especially if you're looking for something like Live. We're more of an Alternative Country/Rock. We've been having a pretty fun year though. We were selected to be a part of the soundtrack to the upcoming indy film "four Color eulogy" and we're in talks for another soundtrack. We've gotten a lot of radio play from here in Kentucky to other parts of the US all the way to the UK. So it's been fun. Yep we're on facebook though we don't push facebook as hard as we probably should. lol But it's at http:///www.facebook.com/manitobarocks We do have all 4 of our current EP releases up for free download at http://www.manitobarocks.bandcamp.com Go grab them all if you get a chance! Or most recent is "Six Red Light Morning". Very proud of that one. Also be sure to check out the track "Foundlife" from "Holy Toledo!" or...just download them all. lol. Thanks for asking. Glad to be here.
