SirensCall is now available on iTunes. I have to say, very solid song!

Wow! Much better than TWAIT. If TWAIT fits in with post-90s Live, this fits in with 90s Live. I hope they release this; preferably as their first single.

From the sample it sounds okay, and better than the first single. Reminds me of The Gracious Few more than Live.

I do not hear any similarities between this song and TGF. TGF's sound was more classic rock. Siren's Call is more on a par with Lakini's Juice but heavier and more melodic. The only similarity I hear with TGF has to do with Honest Man's riff (but this was initially made as Live)

I agree with Costakoui, really doesn't sound at all like TGF (I didn't really care for TGF). It really sounds like a mid- to late-90s Live song.

Classic Live songs typically had lyrics that reflected spirituality, and they were about finding yourself in one way or another. The message usually took you from a dark place, and left you in an uplifting one. Siren's Call has the lyrics of a depressing break-up song, which is the furthest thing from a Live song in the 1990's era(or any era).

The music sounds like Live, but that is where it ends.

post-secret Samadhi, yes. But not before that time. They had a lot of songs with lyrical content discussing spirituality (often questioning it), but it wasn't until TDTH that Ed shifted the lyrical content to feel-good uplifting rock. Prior to that, the lyrics often dealt with personal/social conflict.

Samadhi was really dark, and at times depressing, none of the "Jesus and my daughter are awesome" stuff that popped up in later material. The Siren's song feels (musically and lyrically) like it fits around TC/SS.

How many break-up songs were on TC or SS? Even the darker songs from Live were never outright depressing. Lakini's Juice took you from a place of confusion and ended with "Let Me Ride". There was nothing more awesome than that.

I never found Samadhi to be depressing. Some of the lyrics may have been confusing, but that is where it ended.

I do not really care for the lyrics as long as they are not "la la la la la". Does this remind you of anything from spiritual hero?

I'm saying Siren's Call does not match up with Classic Live because the lyrics don't match the spirituality and the message. It is a decent enough rock song, but it does not sound like Live.

Also, you edited this message whereby you wrote that in the 2000s Live (Ed) wrote "la la la la" lyrics because they wanted to sound more like A/C whatever rock. So, this is acceptable for you but SC's lyrics are not? Again, your arguments are purely reductionist - because you do not like CCP you reduce any music they produce to your biases. Reductionist approaches are just void of reason and I think that it is better not to post here anymore - your opinion is highly predictable and therefore unnecessary.

I enjoyed the Live music from the 2000's, but did so without comparing it to their work in the 1990's, because for the most it was very different.

Some fans may enjoy Siren's Call, it isn't a bad rock song at all. But to me, it is a far cry from 1990's Live, especially when it comes to lyrical message.

That is all I'm saying.

The more I listen to the song, the less I like it. The fact that it is basically a break up song lessens its potential impact for me. The melody is fine, the song message is just lacking to my tastes.

If you listen to the lyrics they definitely imply that this song is about a relationship break-up.
