All right already. I’ll try and answer some Freaks4Live FAQ - These are an amalgamation of questions I found through direct message and on FB posts - Chad Taylor

When is the new LIVE album being released? The details about the upcoming release are still unknown but coming into focus. The band would love to have something out by this summer and we’re pushing to make this happen. The album has been mixed and is in line for mastering. We’re working to set a release date with a single, etc.

What’s the first single? I have no idea. I’ve always been terrible at picking those. That will be up to someone at management. I’m still about making albums.

Where was the material recorded and who produced the album? The album was written and recorded at the bands studio in York, PA and also in Nashville with Jerry Harrison returning as producer. The band members themselves had a lot to do with the recording. Longtime collaborator Tom Lord-Alge mixed the record in York and in South Beach.

Will the band tour? At the moment there are a handful of North American shows that have been released to the public. Make no mistake, 2014 and 2015 will see LIVE return to the road in a big way just don’t expect the lengthy tours of the mid-nineties, the guys and I are simply over that.

Why call it LIVE when you have a new band member? The spirit of LIVE is alive and well in the hands of Gracey, Dahlheimer and me with the addition of new vocalist and guitarist Chris Shinn. Many LIVE fans got a live performance introduction to Shinn on the Summerland tour last summer. Overall, it was a massive success given how tough it could have been. The band ultimately hopes to breath new life into old material and of course, release tons of new songs for the fans to enjoy. We’ve always started by making music for ourselves and then shared it with fans, in that process nothing has changed.

How many songs are on the new album? There are eleven new tracks and we’ve finally agreed on real titles, meaning we had working titles for a really long time.

Is there album artwork yet? No, we really haven’t even spent much time thinking about the visual aspects of the music. We’re musicians, so while the eyes are important we’ve been all about the ears.

Why the f*ck is it taking so long to release? In the day and age of social media, fans have been given a nearly unfiltered look into the rebirth of our band. After several years away from playing as LIVE, the band took its time to make sure that its live performances were on point before beginning to write and record new material. This simply took time. Just because we say we’re in the studio, doesn’t mean that it’s ready for release that day. It’s the only downside to letting fans in on the process.

Do you like the album? F*ck yeah. It’s a really strong body of work that hopefully can stand the test of time. I’ll admit I’ve felt this way in the past and come up short, then again I had no idea of how successful Throwing Copper would be. Just like the singles, I really don’t have a clue. I just make the music I need to hear and pray that LIVE fans will be in the same headspace.

Are you sick of reunion questions? No, fans will always cherish the original line-up and I totally respect that. For me personally, I’m fueled by the music like I’ve always been. I guess you can call it selfish but I never really paid attention to lyrics or vocalists. I’m a music first guy, so I can’t relate much to that area of a band. And for those who do vibe with the lyrics and vocalist, Chris Shinn is a badass. I’m always up for proving doubters wrong, I'm after all a little bit of a rebel. I'd also add that I hate when fans argue with each other about this nonsense, there are far bigger issues to address and no one can really win. There is already enough negative energy out there. Disputes over the lineup of a rock band seems pretty small to me. I also find it hilarious when "fans" turn up after we've been broken up and reformed to give their opinion. It's like, 'come on' where have you been?

Do you have an album tittle? Yes, but I'm not telling, although large volumes of cash may produce results! (joking)

What's up with LIVE and INDYCAR? I'm an open wheel racing enthusiast and we jumped at the chance to be on Marco Andretti's car last year, and now we're on James Hinchcliffe's and Marco's cars this year! It's insane to see LIVE represented at 200mph. We have a very close relationship with Andretti Autosport and hopefully we'll be celebrating some victories. I personally think its cool to be able to connect with fans through the racing experience. It's like rooting for one big family. Our first race is 3pm EST this Sunday on ABC.
