Whitediscussion.com, Does anyone else find it boring? Options

Ok, let me start by saying that i am a fan of the new Live with Chris Shinn. That being said, i think that message board is really kinda dull and bland compared to the way this board was. I think this board is way more objective and people are "allowed" to say what they feel about Live, be it negative or slightly negative. I think criticism is justified if it's constructive and makes sense, after all it is only opinions. I think on that board it's like one big, pardon my french: "ass-kissing session"! This of course is only my honest opinion and don't get me wrong there are alot of cool things about that site, like the band actually is a part of it and so on, so don't hate me i'm just sharing some thoughts.

Ok so wow, I have an active account again here! This isn't going to be anything but a once off post.

Speaking on behalf of whitediscussion. Firstly, yes, things are pretty quiet around whitediscussion.com at the moment, as they are here. Things are pretty quiet in Live land in general at the moment, it's the calm before the storm of the album. Everyone will be pretty excited and/or angry on both boards soon enough.

I have to question what the point of making a post here is talking about how boring/bad the board is. Dan, this should not be in the "Live" section, it has no relevance to anything. Those here who do have access to the whitediscussion board should be absolutely able to testify that there is no bashing of fansoflive on WD.com, nor is there any more bashing of Ed. It's just over, we're done. We don't care anymore. So I'd expect this thread deleted in good faith because it serves no purpose other than to inflame.

Yes, the majority of people at WD.com feel the same way about a lot that happens in Live. It is one of the main reasons there was a split in boards in the first place. And I absolutely agree that there is such thing as healthy argument. I for one will not hold back over there for example if there is some of the new material that I don't like. I absolutely support Live as CCCP, but that does not mean that I support everything they do. Yes there are those over there who are part of the "inner sanctum" so to speak, they're the PA crew, they call guys in Live friends, they have their mobile phone numbers. Yes they're fanboys as such, just like there are here with the Ed crew. The difference being that any time anyone has "gone against the grain" or caused trouble there, there is no one individual who makes decisions on silencing people, or deleting posts, or anything like that. There is a mod area, and there are quite a few of us including plenty who are NOT in the inner sanctum that have a say in how things are handled. I for one have argued against people like OTD and others for people to be able to say what they want. We believe it's a democracy and we have had absolute minimal problems over there with it. We think that's healthy.

The only thing we ask is that people who sign up, support Live as CCCP. We don't care if you like Ed or not, we have Ed fans. We don't care if you like some of the new Live songs or you don't. Those things are absolutely up for debate. The only fundamental rule is that you are behind Live, some people there are behind Live in 100% of everything they do, some 90%, some 80 and so on. But they still agree with the core ideal that Live is CCCP. What we don't want is endless debate of "Live isn't Live without Ed", that just goes around and around in circles as we saw here. There are people here who we know absolutely do no support Live as CCCP, and that is why they are not welcome.

So yes, it is all pretty one way traffic over there at the moment, but no I don't expect it to stay like that. I look forward to plenty of healthy discussion about the new album and tour soon enough. What we don't appreciate is people coming over here and bashing the board, if you don't like it and think it's boring, that's fine, come here instead, but leave it at that. We are done with any kind of board vs board war and shit slinging match. So, yeah, Dan, I hope you'll take that into consideration when you realise this thread has no point other than to fan flames which do not need to be fanned.

This thread seems to give the wrong impression of how things are over on WD.com
So I will reiterate:

* There is no Ed bashing anymore.
* There is no fansoflive bashing.
* OTD does not rule the places with an iron fist, any modding decisions are voted on by a group which contains plenty of people who are not part of that inner CCP sanctum and we have had disagreements with each other in the mod section in the past.
* And if you don't like it there, that is perfectly fine, come back to FOL, just don't come back to FOL with an unwarranted grudge. I think everyone is sick to death of that now.

I think I'm being pretty level headed and reasonable about this. I am not posting here to fight or start wars again.
