Ed and current setlists Options

I watched some of the latest setlists.

It looked like:

So Ed now has 2 solo albums (because he felt he was in a whole new chapter), and plays 1 + 3 = 4 songs from them, and the rest... STILL PLAYING LIVE SONGS. Damn... you can play a whole (long) setlist with all the songs you wrote as a solo artist, but no...

It's really unbelievable. Recording new songs to sell, but still playing the old songs and hits that he knows people come for, from a band he WANTED TO GET OUT OF. Weak.

To many, including myself, this new album from Ed is worthwhile. The more I listen to it, the more I'm digging it. And I think a lot of people will end up digging it.

To put things in perspective, the guys in Live are just human beings like the rest of us. They make mistakes just like you and me, they have issues and flaws just like all of us. They couldn't get along, just like a lot of people on this board. I think some people put the guys in Live on a pedestal and expect them to be superhuman or something.

The band broke up after 7 full-length albums (4 or 5 amazing albums). To me, anything else they release after the break up, including Ed.. the guy who we all grew up listening to.. is just icing on the cake.

I'm just glad he's still releasing music after all these years. It is what it is. Complaining isn't going to change anything. You like it or you don't. If you don't, move on. I happen to love the new stuff, it sounds new and fresh. There's something to be said about the beauty of the simplicity in tracks like Cornerstone, just Ed and the piano. His vocal gymnastics in some of these tracks are epic in my opinion. If you grew up as a fan of Ed.. and you realize he's a human just like the rest of us.. how can you not appreciate the vocals and the incredible melodies throughout this new record?
