Summerland Tour 2013 Alternative Guitars featuring : Everclear, Live, Filter, and Sponge. Will be playing Innsbrook Pavillion. I called this a few weeks ago....I'm good. smile.gif

Looks like the Denver show will be broadcast on AXS TV. It is unclear which band's sets will be broadcast. Odds are it will just be Everclear, they normally only broadcast the headliner. I'll set the DVR and share whatever is broadcast.

They are spending a lot of money promoting this tour. Art is using the Live name to help sell his tour and yet still headline. Got to give the guy credit as being a good business man.

I had to re-write this message like 3 times, and I still don't quite know what to say...

How can this comparison even be made when Ed and Live are currently involved in a lawsuit over Ed's usage of the Live name? How else is the Summerland Tour meant to be advertised? "Come see Everclear/Art Whatver and 3 Mystery Bands!"

I mean that Live with its original line-up would never be opening for Everclear. Art wants Summerland to only include 90's bands that will open for him(a dwindling bunch), and is happy to use the name Live(even though it is a weakened form) to make his headlining tour more successful.

I am guessing STP will be on next year's Summerland......

I would have no problem with Ed opening for Everclear. I just feel that Live should never open for Everclear. Live sold many more albums than Everclear, and Art is the only remaining member of the original band.

Summerland last year played Sheds and larger venues, this years version is very much scaled down. Live with its original lineup could tour the majority of venues on Summerland this year solo, and fill them.

Live once had glory with Ed but the fact is he drove them straight into the ground. They have to rebuild the brand that Ed so severely damaged. This is a great place for that.

When Live disbanded in 2009 they were filling Summerland sized venues solo. Opening for Everclear on the 4th or 5th largest 90's nostalgia tour of the summer is not going to "rebuild the brand" as you say.
