Imagine how CCP feel. Above all else they thought Ed was their friend and they gave him the benefit of the doubt for years.

And they let him to the bulk of the work for the band while getting the same pay as well.

Edit: This thread was not created by SJN1279. It was split from: New song riff - A riff by Chad T

How could you possibly know this? Also, how does one define "work" while in a band? Is it who wrote the lyrics? The melody? What about when a band is on tour? They all had to work then, no? Who keeps track of what percent of the work each band member does?

We can all continue to argue in circles, or just be happy that Ed and the new version of Live will be releasing new music and touring in the not too distance future.

Both sides don't have to get along, but the petty fighting is getting old.

I wasn't saying anything for or against Ed. Nor was it for or against CCCP. I just don't understand how you can say something like "Ed did the bulk of the work" and know that it's a fact. There's so many factors to why a band becomes popular that it becomes silly to value any one member over another. I don't think either of us were included in the making of any Live album, so I can't say I know who did the bulk of the work. Maybe it was Ed. I don't think that's likely, but I really don't know.

On Live at the Paradiso, Ed is credited for composing 16 of the songs on the album, 12 of which solo. Chad Taylor is credited for composing 4 songs on the album with Ed. Gracey and Pat received no composing credit on the album at all.

Chad Taylor has stated publicly that he wished that Gracey and Pat would have contributed more to Live's songwriting process.

Why is Live at the Paradiso the defining work here? And even if it is, according to Wikipedia 8 of those 16 songs are by Live and Ed Kowalczyk and 1 of the 16 is a Johnny Cash song. So more than half of those songs include "work" from everyone.

Still, why Live at the Paradiso? Why does that void all other Live releases? Why wouldn't Throwing Copper be WAY more important in the overall scheme of things? Without Throwing Copper we probably wouldn't even know of the 4 guys from Live, so one could argue that's the work that mattered the most...no doubt it's way more important than Live at the Paradiso!!!

Because Live at the Paradiso accurately documented who actually composed the songs of Throwing Copper. For Example, Lightning Crashes- Ed Kowalczyk/ Selling the Drama Ed and Chad. The first 3 albums just gave all members of Live equal credit for composition, when it really wasn't the case.
