In Ed's head, he is talking about how he has changed from rock and roll excess to finding god/family. Many of us here twist it into him singing about how he has changed to become a guy who backstabs his friends CC&P. This is probably the clearest way I can explain it here for someone who is new to the board

CCP had no problem taking 75 percent song writing credit and money for songs that Ed basically wrote 100 percent himself. I think that is a pretty crummy thing to do to a friend.

So CCP did 75 percent of the song writing for TDTH, V, and BOP?

TDTH is special and even if it could have been way different with rockier songs, I'm sure that the guys contributed to that amount. Anyway, the contract was still valid, no?

For V if I remember well, they recorded together a bit in the process of creating fun music...the record company took control of this. hard to blame any of the guys for this one.

BOP well, if Ed had issues about the royalties then why he waited that long? I can't argue that Ed is the "driving force" of this "masterpiece", but the contract was still on. So CCP waited too long to get away, but Ed did wait too long to negociate royalties. So communication in the band was really bad at that time.
