QUOTE(Badman @ Nov 27 2012, 11:49 am) *

In Ed's head, he is talking about how he has changed from rock and roll excess to finding god/family. Many of us here twist it into him singing about how he has changed to become a guy who backstabs his friends CC&P. This is probably the clearest way I can explain it here for someone who is new to the board smile.gif

CCP had no problem taking 75 percent song writing credit and money for songs that Ed basically wrote 100 percent himself. I think that is a pretty crummy thing to do to a friend.

I think that LIve had 3 number 1 hits on the Billboard Alternative Charts.

Lightning Crashes 2/25/94
Selling the Drama 5/21/94
Lakini's Juice 3/1/97

Chad Taylor said "we [he and Ed] wrote Selling the Drama, Lightning Crashes and All Over You just the two of us hanging in a room."

We know that Chad Taylor delivered Lakini's Juice to the band, and he also stated that he delivered the music for Selling the Drama.

So of Live's 3 number one hits, Chad Taylor co-wrote Lightning Crashes and was basically responsible for Lakini's Juice and Selling the Drama.

He also says he delivered Operation Spirit, Stood Up For Love, Change, Still Aroused, Don't Wait. He co-wrote White Discussion and Damn At Otter Creek with Ed. Pat was responsible for Pillars of Davidson. Those songs are all pretty damn good songs that defined Live for a generation.

Ed wrote singer-songwriter songs like Turn My Head, The Distance, Dolphins Cry. Ed wrote Freaks - but what do I think of first when I think of freaks? The drums and the bass.

What's the point? It doesn't matter what the credits say on the liner notes. This is all bullshit. Live was four guys and when you see what made Live connect with fans and become relevant alternative rock, it had EVRYTHING to do with Gracey, Dahlheimer, Taylor and Kowalczyk and not just Ed.

And if I recall correctly, it was Chad Taylor's dad who helped them connect with their first well-connected producer and loaned them money with "bonds" along with otrher family memebrs so they could even start this thing. THEY WERE IN THIS TOGETHER!!!!!

As I said before, Ed would be selling DVD players at the Best Buy on the outskirts of York if he hadn't connected with those other three musicians.
