ugh, do we learn nothing from how we've treated minorities in the past, why does it take us so freakin' long to wise up?

Well, like i said, i don't vote.
Mainly because i don't understand politics at all.
Someone told me i made the right choice because if i don't understand there really is no point in voting.

But you can read right? And with luck maybe along with reading comes comprehension? Most intelligent people I know, if they don't understand something, they strive and seek for understanding. Guess you don't fall in that category. Sad to know that so many died to bring us the ability to vote and protect that freedom every day and yet people are are just so uncaring about it all. Tragic really. Meanwhile, in oppressed societies and governments around the world, people long to be free and have the gift that we have as a free nation. They no doubt would fight (and have!) and kill for the opportunity for change and have the same freedoms and liberties that we do and other free countries. Musical tastes aside, if you don't understand politics even at the local government level, at minimum at least read up on the general election for the presidency and understand the candidates' position on important issues. Be a better person, a smarter person, understand the process and vote and be a part of what keeps this nation great and moving forward.

That someone would have done better to at least talk to you and educate you on the candidates, their main issues, their plan for the economy, healthcare, defense, the ever growing national debt etc... and urged you to learn as much as you can so you can make an inform decision and be a part of the process that will define the direction of this country for the next 4 years. But hey, I'm sure you are into self growth and you've got 4 years until you vote in the next election.
