Is it me or has Ed completely become whoever he is talking to in The Ride? Or did I just completely misunderstand the song?

All this debate is really interesting but answer me this... if he is truly inspired by his rebirth as he has stated..why is his lyric and song writing turned soooooooo shit? I dont listen to any christian radio here but is all of it like this crap Ed is dishing up now?

Yes. Christian music on the radio is 99 percent rancid, uninspired crap.

There are some Christians out there who make good tunes though - Brian and Gaslight Anthem, Dustin and Thrice, Jeremy Enigk, Civil Wars, etc., lots more where that came from.

Also, whoever was remarking about the gospel of John - it is notorious with Biblical scholars for its WTFness. It was written later than the other gospels and no one has any clue what its sources are. It's the best read, but if any of it is historical then it's the absolute least historical. My academic work was in church history but I studied a fair bit of that stuff.

Also, yes Pokey, it's just as easy being an agnostic man. My life got a lot better once I abandoned all of this stuff. Of course that took me about 7 years of studying and talking to people.
