Yeah Waits is a pretty big name in music in a lot of circles, I'm a big fan of his but never got to see him live I didn't know CS was a fan though that's pretty cool! I know Adam Taylor was when he said here that he named his band the Rain Dogs after a Waits song.

But is this confirmed that Ledger used Waits as an influence? The similarities in some mannerisms and voice is undeniable but wondering if it's speculation or confirmed?

Oddly enough Tom Hardy said that Bartley Gorman, one of the best ever bare knuckle boxers, an Irish Gypsy was the main influence behind Bane's voice and part of the character .. I can see it in a couple of the things he says but it's not as clear as the Waits video!
