the boys assaulted were either at sports camps held on campus or part of the Second Mile camp.

Also, it's not just that the actual football players will suffer by having to transfer, etc.

PSU's football program funds something like 80% of it's student activities. I have a coworker who is on the student activities committee thinger (I forget what he said it's called) and he said that without a football program, PSU will not have funding for most student activities held on campus. So it's not just athletes that are suffering.

You fire/force retire all administrators in the athletic department and get rid of Joe's statue and win record (though he's name's still on the Library, reminding you to keep quiet while you're there) and yes, probably several staff get fired for no reason. But thousands of students get to keep on keeping on.


the NCAA sanctions hurt no one but students.

After all the bills were paid last season, the football program had $53 M in profits. The year before I believe that number approached $70 M in profits. They will be fine. They still have all of their home games, and they will still be on tv. The students up there will not suffer.
