For those of you that have it... are you happy with it, ever lose service because of bad weather if so how often, do you have internet through it too? I notice there's a two year contract with most of the providers....
Basically I wanna get rid of cable.
The bill is like 120 bucks a month and now ABC has been blacked out in Maine because Time Warner Cable and the ABC affiliate here can't come to an agreement about money. I don't actually watch anything on ABC, but it pisses me off to think I pay that much a month and if I wanted to watch ABC I wouldn't be able to.
So anyway, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks OTD, I did read that. I've been thinking about getting rid of cable for awhile...this is kinda like the last straw. A couple of years ago it was CBS that we lost ....and the bill just keeps getting higher.

I am about to switch from Cable to Satellite like you and had similar questions. My brother has satellite and one of the things we talked about was how often he loses service during bad weather. He told me it rarely happens and when it does it's not out for long. He also made the point that you can get a DVR package at a good price from the satellite service - and that what his family does whenever they lose service is catch up on all the stuff they've recorded. Seemed like a simple idea that made a lot of sense to me!
