“I walked away from music for more than a year to work alongside Ernie,” Taylor wrote through a news release from his development company Think Loud. “The chance to learn from him was once in a lifetime and those memories will always stay with me. On behalf of the cast and crew of ‘Another Harvest Moon,’ we’d like to extend our thoughts and prayers to Mr. Borgnine’s family and friends. It’s a sad day for all of us. I can still recall picking Ernie up from the airport and driving him to our set in Harrisburg. We stopped at a local gas station and fans, young and old, were greeted graciously by a screen legend. In fact, Ernie insisted on buying everyone in the place ice cream on a stick. When I tried to pay for it he flashed that infamous smile and said, ‘Chad, you can pay when you have an Oscar, until then I’ll do the buying.’”
