You gotta crap on Ed or Nick when they try to crap on the band, that's part of your duty as a Live fan!

I just don't get why everyone is going so nuts over the whole "loss of momentum" thing, like I said earlier, there was no momentum before the York show was announced and then suddenly it was all there. Once the next big thing is finally announced it'll come back again. They could be doing more to interact in the mean time - videos, sound clips etc, but they aren't and don't seem like they're about to yet, so...

It'll all happen, you can speculate about a million different scenarios - CS stubbed his toe while he was carrying coffee for CG and spilled it so CG got mad and threw CS out the window and hence the long delay.
CT spends his nights moonlighting as a can of pepsi. I dunno. Whatever they're doing, they're working on it in their own way. We whinged and moaned about TGF before it came out (even though we got a couple of videos and such while it was happening). Then the album dropped and we were gob smacked at how amazing it was and those of us in the US, Canada and UK were lucky enough to see them live and all was forgotten.
This won't be any different, just know that at some point down the track it'll be album release day and you'll be rocking the fuck out to it and all this waiting will seem like a distant memory.
It'll happen.

KM had some interesting things to say about CCP in that interview that Dangum recently posted in the CB thread. Maybe he's on to something? As far as Ed's performance, I say this with the utmost respect to Z-Man, but Ed's performance sort of reminded me of Z-Man's PLOTR performance. Like a cover band doing an decent job. Never thought Ed would remind me of a cover band doing Live songs. I like Z-Man's performance for what it is but I wouldn't confuse it with Live though, with Ed or with CS. Just as I wouldn't confuse Ed with Live, especially here. Amazing what Ed has become.

Wow! I had to wait until the 22:30 mark in the video to hear that, but that was really quite telling! I didn't really expect to hear Kevin say something like that about CCP and Ed and the split. He knows more than any of us about it, and he seemed to characterize it differently than anything I've heard. To paraphrase: Ed was the principal song writer in Live. Check. Ed's a really hard worker and go getter. Check (that much is obviously clear). CCP are laid back, relaxing, pot smokers who do their own thing and wouldn't keep up with or go along with Ed's program. Check - I mean, wha? Hey, maybe that explains the littered streets of broken promises and slow-walking progress. And Kevin says (and has been saying) that they should get back together. And CCP has said it is up to Ed whether he comes back. But Chris Shinn is in the band now. But Ed is welcomed back. And Kevin knew Chris is now in the band as of May 2012 when he did this interview, after he introduced Shinn at the Strand Dress Rehearsal. Is Chris permanently in? SHould I move on from Ed? Is Shinn working on music with CCP? Are CCP working on music? Was Ed not really all wrong? WTF is going on here?!?!?!

22:28 mark "I am friends with Ed and I am friends with the guys who have a band with him." Have present tense?!?! As of May 2012, Kevin had introduced Chris Shinn as the new lead singer of Live.

22:32 mark "I think that at some point, Ed being the main song writer, just got fed up with the guys not working the way he works and, uh, he works very very hard. He's a busy human being and those guys tend to like to sit back and enjoy their lives and you know, uh, smoke a little weed, and you know kinda hang out and do their thing, and I think that Ed really had a new vision for the band and the guys didn't agree with it and he started making some kind of crazy demands...."

23:08 "To this day I keep trying to tell the guys 'work it out, work it out'". How am I supposed to feel about Shinn? Should I burn the Ed bridge and move on when everyone is still waiting for Ed to walk back through the door?

Seriously, this whole Live situation seems more and more F'ed up. I don't even know who I should want to hope is the lead singer. I sometimes think I would have been more happy if they all just went on with TGF and tried like heck to make that work.

First off, are you sure Kevin said "have" instead of "had" in the earlier quote? I heard it as "had."

Second of all, I don't think Kevin should be the gospel on the situation. Candlebox' music has gone in a direction that is arguably similar to BoP (note I said BoP NOT SFBM). His perspective as the songwriter will undoubtedly be different. I can't imagine he and the guys from Live agree on this.

Third of all, I'd rather Live end than have Ed come back. He's completely flown the coop. I'd hope that Kevin is referring to their friendship, unless CS has gone away.

Fourth of all, you are spot on with TGF. I'd rather have more TGF records than Live or Candlebox records given the state of the two bands. TGF could be fucking special and both parties should have given it more time.
