I wonder if the guys would ever do something like this:

Quite an interesting bit of info from the frontman of The Verve Pipe. Interesting ideas...

The benefit of house concerts is the low overhead and high payout. My friends who are relatively no-name are able to charge upwards of 500 bones just for one show. omg.gif Whenever you see a mid-level solo artist do these kinds of shows this is where they are really making their money, not with a full band.

Like Dan said, a lot of that is negated once you have four people in the mix. Is it out of the realm of possibility? Of course not, but a bigger band like Live should be able to get solid guarantees at 500-2000 seat venues and make a nice living.

Hopefully one thing we will see is invite only acoustic gigs from radio stations. I've seen a number of bands be successful with this and while the payout isn't as high, I imagine Live needs promotion more than they need money at this point.

It wouldn't surprise me to see Ed take to these kinds of shows though at some point in the next ten years. They are a great idea for solo artists and a whole lot of fun.

Still tough to see this avatar and read a post that is sensible and makes valid points. Can you change your signature to some snarky remark about Live and their new cover singer. Just so there is some balance.

I see a lot of solo acts doing the house concert as a reward for chipping into their KickStarter fund. Rocky Votolato comes to mind as a musician who as done this as well.

You need to take him back for the Jedi. The dark side has had him for far too long.
