with the exception of King's X, all of those bands in the bracket were really mainstream and had a ton of radio play. I'm surprised that folks wouldn't be familiar with them. I suppose if you were too young during the decade then some might be unheard of, but these bands were pretty much staples of modern rock / alternative radio stations during the 90s, at least in the USA.

If not, let me tell you one thing: it is Russia. Everything mainstream in the US was so rare in Russia, that you can hardly imagine. When I was 13, I went to my first good grunge fest. There were about 200 people there, moshing with the bands, stagediving, crowdsurfing etc. Those were the days. I saw a lot of people in great tshirts that said Soundgarden, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains. T'was 1996. Since then I tried to find some pirate tapes with Pearl Jam and Soundgarden. They have been my fave bands eversince.

But any of those bands whch got a ton of radioplay over in the US or even Europe... well, some of those still say nothing to me. You can not imagine how much I fought to get through to the music I liked. But the victory is won. If I have not, I would have not been here, making friends with the guys from different places all over the world, crying when my fave band gets together again. No. I would have been spinning some Backstreet Boys Cd I bought at school and be happy
