The Parlotones, who are opening for LIVE in SA, have just signed the biggest deal for South African artists ever. Their deal is with UNIVERSAL.

I personally know these guys, Glenn, Kahn, Neil and Paul. They are so amazing and totally deserve it. Europe: Brace yourselves!

Here's the article:

The usage of the song “Beautiful” in the Irish Fujifilm (www.fujifil.ei) commercial has led to world wide deal with Universal Music. The SAMA award winning album Radiocontrolledrobot is set for release in Ireland, The UK, Germany, France, Holland and Japan between September and February with more territories to follow. What started as an attempt to release the single to captialise on the commercial in Ireland has ended up as the most important deal in South African Rock history. Never before has a South African rock band been signed in a multi territory deal by a major label and not just any Major but the worlds biggest. The most significant factor of this deal is that The Parlotones were signed out of South Africa and not by having lived in The UK. This will hopefully put the spotlight on South African rock with more bands having an opportunity to show the world that we have got the goods. Keep a close eye as we bring you step by step news on The Parlotones invasion of the civilized world.

Good news! thumbsup.gif Hopefully they'll be as successful as Seether has been in the US.

damn right, these guys are awesome!!

I saw Just Jinger (ok, Jinjer) last night at a open air concert in the Durban Botanical Gardens to promote their new CD and they are still a true SA Rock Band, even though they now live in the states. Has anyone been to any of there concerts in the US? What did you think?
